Our integrated circuits and reference designs help you create a servo drive functional safety module with reliable speed and position measurement along with robust digital IO to implement various functions per IEC 61800-5-2. TI’s products enable performing diagnostic coverage for detecting various faults which helps increase safe failure fraction.

Servo drive functional safety modules often require:

  • Power supplies which can operate up to or protected against 60 Vdc input.
  • Redundant multi-protocol encoder interfaces and protected digital inputs/outputs
  • Cross monitoring of signals and enabling single hardware fault tolerance.
  • Continuous self-diagnosis of circuits through monitoring voltage rails and temperature.
